1. Anonymous asked: Tom, i wondered whether you modeled the average monthly budget of target readers into decisions about pricing and volume of comics in the line? I'm loving all of the Secret Wars tie ins but there are limits to the depth of my wallet. Now I haven't this time, but on occasion this has meant I skip an event altogether rather than just read a portion of the books, Is this something you consider when deciding on how many titles to include in an event?

    brevoortformspring:

Are you buying any DC books? Or any IMAGE books? Or any IDW books? Or any music? or any films or television shows in iTunes? Or pretty much anything else?

if so, then you’ve got disposable income that’s not coming Marvel’s way, and it’s my job to go get it by making the work we’re doing more irresistible than what everybody else is offering.

I understand, it is absolutely a financially difficult undertaking to follow all of the Marvel books that you’d like to–comics are expensive!

But I find that if you’d just start by buying all of the Marvel stuff you want, and then filling out less essential things like food and clothing, you’d lead a happier life! And so would we!

    Excellent life advice.
