The sales numbers show anything but that. So while you and others like you may jump off, on average more readers jump on. That’s not a fantasy, that’s simply the way that it is—and if it wasn’t that way, if it didn’t produce those results reliably, we and everybody else wouldn’t do it.
That may not be your individual experience—and that’s fine, you should read what you want to read—but it is reflective of what the audience as a whole does.
